Domus of the surgeon - Rimini
\n <\/h3>\n

The garden courtyard houses the Roman lapidary, which collects about a hundred inscriptions from the 1st century BC. to the 4th century AD. Since 2003, on the ground floor, you can visit the first part of the Archaeological Section dedicated to Imperial Rimini between the 2nd and 3rd centuries. The protagonists of the museum itinerary are two emblematic residences of the period: the Domus del Chirurgo in Piazza Ferrari, so called for the exceptional medical instruments found, and the domus of Palazzo Diotallevi, known for the grandiose mosaic with the scene of boats entering the port . On the ground floor there is also a permanent space dedicated to the Rimini artist Ren\u00e9 Gruau. The historic eighteenth-century staircase leads to the Pinacoteca which winds along the first and second floors following a chronological path from the eleventh to the twentieth century: among others there are masterpieces of the Rimini School of the fourteenth century, works created for the Malatesta court, paintings of the original local seventeenth century.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Civic Archaeological Museum \u2013 Verucchio<\/h3>\n

Set up in the Monastery of the Augustinian Fathers, whose foundation dates back to the 13th century, it is one of the pearls and major surprises of culture and art in the Rimini hinterland. Not only the rarity but the great aesthetic refinement of the finds (which come to us from hundreds of Villanovan-Etruscan tombs dating from the 10th to the 6th century BC) make it a museum not to be missed. From the necropolis of Verucchio, objects and furnishings that are practically unique in terms of style and degree of conservation have re-emerged. Think of wooden objects or containers in vegetable fibers and fabrics. Among all the finds, the wooden throne with the representation of human figures is of great importance. Even the container, the Augustinian Monastery, for its architecture (including the church of S. Agostino) represents a very worthy setting.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Civic museum of the fortress \u2013 San Leo<\/h3>\n

The museum is housed in the fort, of medieval origin, modified by Francesco di Giorgio Martini on behalf of Frederick II of Montefeltro.
